Wind Farm ChallengeYour team will need to construct the most energy-efficient wind farm possible. In order to do this each member of your team must construct a wind turbine that connects to a generator, which will connect to a circuit that connects all of your wind turbines to a voltmeter. The team with the highest average voltage reading over a one minute period of time is the winner. Individual awards for efficiency, craftsmanship, resourcefulness, and creativity will also be awarded.

Suggested Steps
1. Group Decision: Decide the axis orientation of your team's wind turbines.
2. Expert Research: Have each member of your team become an expert in one of the areas below and present findings to the rest of your team.
|
3. Experimentation: Decide and build a base design for your team's wind turbine. This will serve as your control group. Then, use a Google Sheet to experiment with various design models to see what will work best for you and your team.
4. Implementation: Review the results of your team's experiments and decide what variable configurations to use for your team's wind farm. 5. Construction: Build and test your wind farm! Note: Each team may produce a maximum of 17 wind turbines, so focus on quality, not quantity. |
